How to understand the tide of protests in Brazil?
Today I decided to do a post about the tide of protests here in Brazil. A post that is for people to read and think.
The press has said that the main cause of the manifestations, known as "Revolt of The Vinegar", is the increase of the rate of public transport. Yes, this is actually one of the reasons. But it was not only for it that Brazilians worldwide, not only in Brazil, have rallied. Our country has many problems.
Before I wish to clarify some facts. Let's go to the statistics.
The article is in Portuguese, and I translated right down.
Well, besides this salary, there are also their homes in Brasilia, with all expenses paid by the State. Now multiply that by 513 deputies, 81 senators, 11 ministers of the Supreme Federal Tribunal and 39 ministers of State, and the president and the vice-president (this only in the Federal Government). It's about... R$ 17.263.141,98 (US$ 7,704,008.66). It's little, is not it? Not counting expenses paid by the state, the deviation and laundering of public money, the extra wages. Yeah... This link is the Debt Clock, the paid taxes meter. When I saw it, the money would buy almost 367,000,000 LED TVs. In Brazil even a measly gum has a percentage tax on its price, and I'm not kidding. The tax burden in Brazil surpassed the average for Latin America and now leads the ranking, to give you an idea of the revolt of the protesters that have to pay more in the price of bus fare because companies want more profit.

Link: Official Site of House of Deputies.

The tax burden is, on average, of R$ 400,00 (about US$ 178.50) per person per month. The question is whether the government collects so much of the people, why do not they return for improvements in education, health and housing?
But there is the FIFA World Cup, there's not it?
Know that Ronaldo, who was the best player of the Brazilian team, said? He said: "A hospital doesn't make a Cup." And I still have the surname of this guy in mine... BUT BRAZIL HAVE MONEY TO MAKE CUP. THE PEOPLE DON'T HAVE IT, BUT THE GOVERNMENT IS SWIMMING ON IT. So what is causing so much delay in the construction of stadiums? All are late. If the government wants to increase the rate of public transport (through taxes embedded in it), why don't we see improvements in health, in schools? Because of the Cup?
The manifestations in Brazil are fair, are clean, are peaceful. All we are fighting for our rights. Brazil's government is too corrupt, politicians hiding money in underwear, they steal the people, and the people, perhaps because they didn't have quality education and are ignorant of politics, give their vote to them. But there are some assholes who infiltrate in the middle of the marches aiming to vandalize, and the press, doing his duty to inform, ends up generalising and distorting the facts. If you think all those people is just bums screaming and smashing public property, know that you are wrong. The manifestation is entirely peaceful. Nobody wants violence, but the Brazilians already tired of being play in the games of the powerful rulers. If the people fight now, imagine in the Cup.
Brazil is very rich, and people too. I doubt that Americans, Europeans and other foreigners would have the car of the year, a magnificent house, a Rolex on the wrist,a Dior in the body, an Iphone in the pocket, if they had to pay more than half of their earnings in taxes every month.
